Week 12 | Jesus’ Betrayal
Introduction
Jesus suffered greatly in body, heart, and soul. The way Jesus responded to betrayal, false accusations, and unjust torture reveals that he is the Messiah. In the optional reading for this week is psalm 55 where David deals with a betrayal by a close friend. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Jesus can sympathize with our weaknesses.
