Questions for Accountable Friendships

  1. How has this week been?
    - What was the high point? 
    - What was the low point?
    - Share one thing you are thankful for this week.

  2. How are the relationships in your life doing? (family, friend, work, school, dating, mentor, disc.)

  3. How are you taking care of yourself personally (rest, exercise, recreation, etc.)?

  4. What has God been speaking into your life this week?  Where has God been in the midst of _____ this week?
    - How did he do that?
    - What are you doing to position yourself to hear from Christ?
    - What are you doing with it?

  5. Have you experienced conviction in any area this week?
    - What is your "high risk" area over the next week?
    - What can you do proactively so that you aren't a "victim"?

  6. What is a prayer request that we can be fighting for you in?

  7. Who is one person you can be praying for that you know needs Jesus? 

  8. What is your next step in following Jesus?  How can I help you get there?

  9. Which spiritual discipline have you been the strongest/weakest in?  How have your spiritual disciplines helped you draw near to God?

  10. Have you thought more about the needs of others, or your own needs this week? Who is someone we can be serving or praying for together?

  20. How have you humbled yourself before God/people?  Where have you been prideful?

  23. Where have you suffered this week?  Is this a result of sin or persecution?

  24. What do you need to yield to God, that you have not yet trusted him with?

  27. What sin and temptation have you been met with? How were you delivered? What have you done that you had doubt whether it was sin?

Scripture Memorization for Accountable Friendships

Ephesians 4:15 – Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ

Ephesians 4:2-3 – with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace

Romans 15:1 – We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Galatians 6:1-2 – Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Proverbs 20:30 – Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the innermost parts. 

Hebrews 12:6 – For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.

Proverbs 14:10 – The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy. 

Hebrews 4:15 – For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

James 5:16 – Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working 

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 3:20-21 –  For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God. 

Ephesians 5:11-13 –  Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible.

Colossians 4:6 – Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

James 2:13 – For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Romans 12:9-10 –  Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
