Renewed | 3 Circles Gospel Presentation

God’s Design | 1st Circle

We see beauty, purpose, and evidence of design all around us. The Bible tells us that God originally planned a world that worked perfectly. God made each of us with a purpose, to worship and walk with Him. He loved those he created and desired a relationship with them. (Genesis 1:31)

Brokenness | 2nd Circle

"We can all probably agree that the world is broken." We have all experienced the difficulty of life. While our world is beautiful, it is also full of pain, war, sickness, injustice, and death. The world is not the way it should be. The Bible tells us this is the result of sin, or disobedience to God. The consequence of sin is separation from God, in this life and for all eternity. Rather than trusting God, we selfishly insist on doing things our own way. We all sin and distort the original design. (Romans 1:25, 3:23, 6:23)

When we realize life is not working, we begin to look for a way out. We tend to go in many directions trying different things to figure it out on our own. We seek refuge from the brokenness in all sorts of things such as entertainment, relationships, alcohol, or pleasure. These numb the pain for a while but ultimately do not provide what we long for.

Gospel | 3rd Circle

Though we had rejected him, God loved us and did not leave us without hope. Jesus, God in human flesh, came to us and lived perfectly according to God's design. Jesus came to rescue us and to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. He took our sin to the cross, paying the penalty of our sin by his death. Jesus was then raised from the dead to provide the only way for us to be rescued and restored to a relationship with God. (Romans 5:8, John 3:16)

Repent & Believe - The invitation to turn and believe in Jesus is for everyone. We don't have the power to escape this brokenness on our own; we need to be rescued. We must admit our sinful brokenness and stop trusting in ourselves. We must turn from sin and ask God to forgive us, trusting only in Jesus. This is what it means to repent and believe. By faith, we receive new life through Jesus and God turns our lives in a new direction. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9)
