Worship Lyrics

Solid Rock

Verse 1

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus' blood and righteousness

I dare not trust the sweetest frame

But wholly lean on Jesus' name

Chorus

On Christ the solid Rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand

Verse 2

When darkness veils His lovely face

I rest on His unchanging grace

In ev'ry high and stormy gale

My anchor holds within the veil

Chorus

On Christ the solid Rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand

Verse 3

His oath His covenant His blood

Support me in the whelming flood

When all around my soul gives way

He then is all my hope and stay

Chorus

On Christ the solid Rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand

Verse 4

When He shall come with trumpet sound

O may I then in Him be found

Dressed in His righteousness alone

Faultless to stand before the throne

Chorus

On Christ the solid Rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand

I GIVE MYSELF AWAY

Chorus

I give myself away

I give myself away

So You can use me

(REPEAT)

Verse 1

Here I am

Here I stand

Lord my life is in Your hands

Lord I'm longing to see

Your desires revealed in me

Chorus

I give myself away

I give myself away

So You can use me

(REPEAT)

Verse 2

Take my heart

Take my life

As a living sacrifice

All my dreams

All my plans

Lord I place them in Your hands

Chorus

I give myself away

I give myself away

So You can use me

(REPEAT)

BRIDGE

My life is not my own

To You I belong

I give myself

I give myself to You

(REPEAT)

Chorus

I give myself away

I give myself away

So You can use me

(REPEAT)

1 John 1:5-10

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

So What? How does this teaching passage relate to our lives?

Now what? What might God be asking you to do in light of this passage?

IN A GROUP OF 2

In John 8:44 we understand that the devil is the father of lies. His goal is to deceive you and destroy you (John 10:10). We see this play out in his interactions with Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11. What are the lies you are believing that tempt you into the darkness?

How do you engage with the darkness around you? How do you protect yourself while caring for those you love who are in darkness?
