A common cultural assumption is that truth is relative. Even amongst Christians, there is a growing opinion that it is inherently offensive to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, as doing so would be “forcing” a belief on someone who doesn’t already hold it. This breakout will challenge these modern social assumptions with biblical and practical counterpoints—thereby equipping students to evangelistically engage their neighbors and peers.

Many students are willing and desire to have spiritual conversations with others but are unequipped to do so. This breakout will give students a practical framework for initiating a spiritual conversation; a framework rooted in the fundamentals of being a good conversationalist.

Jesus said, “The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.” — John 14:21. This breakout will break down the five marks of a disciple: a Jesus-centered life, consistent time in the Word, devoted to prayer, engaged in Christian fellowship, and committed to witnessing.

Disciple-making is commonly associated with meeting with someone and sharing biblical knowledge with them. While this can be an excellent component of discipleship, discipleship is primarily about teaching someone what it means to obey Jesus. This breakout will prepare students to disciple others by giving them a clear framework for the end goal for those under their mentorship.

Jesus’ Great Commission commands his followers to make disciples of all nations, but some Christians find that command easier to follow than others. It’s not always a matter of willful disobedience. There are real barriers that keep some Christians from participating in global missions. This breakout will explore common barriers, help students see God’s point of view regarding His Kingdom, and illuminate His invitation to us to participate in building His Kingdom.
