What is the Difference between Portico and Portico Groups?
Every THURSDAY night at 7p we host Portico here at the BSM. During this time, the BSM community gathers for worship and teaching from Scripture. We want to encourage connections throughout the week at times convenient and beneficial to you, which is where Portico Groups come in the picture. Life was meant to be lived in community, not in isolation. We see in the creation story that God says "it is not good for man to be alone" before the fellowship between the creator and the created was broken by the original disobedience.
The Longhorn BSM has Portico Groups that meet weekly to offer an entry point in to community and accountability. The Por-ti-co is the part of Solomon's Temple where all were welcomed and where all dialogue was encouraged. All nations and thoughts were greeted with open arms and open minds. Our Portico groups are a place for everyone, no matter your faith background or spiritual depth. They are places where dialogue is welcome and encouraged rather than a forum for a bunch of Christians telling you what to think. There is a group that meets every night between Monday through Wednesday. Below is the schedule; find the group that is best for you and sign up!
