The 2015 Longhorn BSM Austin Celebration Dinner will be on the evening of Saturday, November 21 at 6:30pm at the Austin Country Club.  We would be honored if you would join us in celebrating all God has done for the last 95 years through the Longhorn BSM and consider all the ways He will work in the years to come.


The 2015 Longhorn BSM Houston Celebration Dinner will be Sunday, November 1 at 6:30pm at the The Junior League of Houston.  We would be honored if you would join us in celebrating all God has done for the last 95 years through the Longhorn BSM and consider all the ways He will work in the years to come.


Our guest speaker will be Dr. David Hardage.  Dr. Hardage currently serves as the Executive Director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  Dr Hardage has given his life to the church and its advancement.  He has spent over 25 years serving in the pastorate and was part of Truett Seminary where he was able to focus preparing the next generation of church leadership.  He started as Executive Director in of the BGCT in 2012 and has made the promotion of BSM part of his primary call to Texas Churches.  He sees the modern college campus as both primary mission field and the future leadership of the church.

Dr. Hardage has his Doctorate from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Masters from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary and his undergrad from Baylor University.  He and his wife Kathleen have two children, John and Rebekah.

 

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Rick Spencer.  Dr. Spencer currently serves as a Regional Coordinator for the collegiate ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  Rick is most beloved for his 26 years of service as the Bible Chair at the University of Texas (1970-1996).  He is also known and loved throughout the churches of Austin as he has spent the last 40 years serving the body as an interim pastor.  Rick sees the modern college campus as a place of great need and opportunity, campus work has a special place in his heart not only because of his time UT but also because he became a follower of Christ as a college students at Midwestern State University.  

Rick has a Ph.D and Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Vicki currently live in Austin, TX.  They have a son Ryan and a daughter Kristi and celebrate with them their 4 grandchildren.
